Job Description: The
Shop Supervisor/ Lead Diesel Technician will be responsible for all maintenance aspects and management of a Bulkmatic shop. This includes supervisory duties and performing repairs on a daily basis.
This position reports directly to the Terminal Leader and follows the required maintenance guidelines set forth by the Vice President of Maintenance and the Department of Transportation.

Job Requirements:
Primary Duties
- Perform diesel repairs and maintenance, complete shop projects and assignments as required or requested by management.
- Manage the day to day activity of the shop
- Including inventory, supervision of employees and workload assignments.
- Oversee Site Maintenance Staff
- Coaching, training and supervising Shop Mechanics
- Participate in the hiring and discipline process
- Assist Terminal Manager
- Consistent implementation of policy and procedures
- Compliance with government regulations, customer expectations and company standards.
- Oversee employee safety, satisfaction and performance
- Ensure compliance with safety related requirements
- Promote Clean and Safe working conditions
- Complete required data elements
- Generate and analyze shop data and reports to promote efficiency
- Work with other terminals and departments to ensure necessary documents are processed
- Some travel required
- To secure parts as needed, meet with vendors, assess equipment and aquire bids as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred)
- At least 4 years of management or supervisory experience
- Five years relevant experience in the operation and repair of tractor (class 8), and trailers (air brakes) inspection / repairs within a fleet, state, or federal (including Armed Forces) shop environment.
- A two year degree with a leading technical college in the repair of diesel engines is preferred
